I have had some projects I wanted to work on and finally found the time to get them done a few weekends ago! The first project was some Pinterest inspiration.
I mean seriously how cute is this shelving?! Anyway we needed some shelving in our garage. This is a PERFECT project to do for the garage, because well it doesn't have to be perfect. Plus we had tons of pallets at work just going to waste.
Here is the project before paint! I am so proud of myself. haha Ripping apart the pallets was the hardest part by far. After getting the wood apart and cut to the right length it took me no time.
That was our previous shelf...small and dinky. It doesn't help that our garage was a mess. I couldn't go out there without wanting to organize it all!
BOOM! Once it was painted and cleaned up. ahhhh I just love it being organized and everything in its place. The total cost of this project was really some wood screws and paint. That made it even better.
Project #2
My second project really stemmed from the fact that I wanted a big mirror to hang on the wall in our bedroom. We had a dresser mirror, but it was super old fashioned and not us. So I took that off the dresser and just starred at an empty wall. We looked around, but most mirrors the size I wanted were like $50-$100. So ridiculous, plus nothing was exactly what I wanted. I just so happened to be at Jasper Junction, our local flea market, on my lunch break and spied a huge mirror. Looked at it for a while, realized it was only $3, and grabbed it! For $3 I'll take the chance. I didn't love the shape of it, but the gross brown is probably what made it look gross.
Just look at it! It had dry erase marker all over it and just looked blah. It did have 2 holes in the sides. I think it used to be on a stand that was later removed.
I grabbed these two little beauties from the store and worked my magic!
Holes filled and sanded, ready to paint!
Paint makes a huge difference that surprises me every time. I still felt like it was missing something. So I walked around Walmart in the craft section and found the perfect touch.
I love it! It has been hung up now (just didn't take a picture), but its perfect. I love it and it cost me like $20 for everything!
