For our wedding Curt and I received a homemade chip maker. After a year of wanting to try it, I found time to bust it out! It was actually pretty awesome and simple. PLUS they were delicious. The kit came with a mandolin to help slice the potatoes super thin which was extremely helpful. Curt played his mandolin since I was using mine. He always finds a way to make me laugh. He is The reason I chose sweet potatoes was because I had some left over from Thanksgiving/Christmas and they needed to be used up. :)
After I cut up some potatoes I was ready to cook them.
I don't have a picture of them on the thing I cooked them on, but all I had to do was space them out on the cooker and pop it in the microwave. I microwaved them for 2-3 minutes and they were done! I still need to mess around with the time and cook power because I burnt the chips in the very center of the cooker. Ohh well, just another excuse to try more.
They were delicious. I topped them with brown sugar which made them even more tasty. It was one of the most fun gifts we got! I kind of want to try some fruit next. I'll let you know how that goes.
